Collar Poppers

Every time I see someone wearing a golf shirt with the collar "popped" I have an intense urge to walk over and force their collar into its rightful position. I obviously don't take any action because I'm a normal, functioning member of society. I also generally believe you shouldn't get into anyone else's business unless their actions affect you, their actions affect others who need your help, or they need help themselves. That said, these collar poppers continue to make my head spin.

The Libertarian in me says collar-poppers have the right to do anything they want, especially when it comes to clothing. The Social Liberal in me says collar-poppers are contributing to our culturally pluralistic society, even if it is a fashion trend that I personally don't like. The Economic Conservative in me is fine with collar-poppers but is surprised the market for overpriced golf shirts has been so strong for so long. I'm pretty sure I don't have much Social Conservative in me, so I won't even try that one.

In the end, the Libertarian wins hands down in my mind - but part of me can't help but think a law banning collar popping would make the world a better place. I guess I have a little Fascist in me. Who knew?
