A Close Election And A Heartbeat Away

It's hard to describe my feelings after watching this clip.  I laugh and laugh and laugh - then I'm frightened by how close she is to being the president of my country.

If you're interested, here is a longer piece of this train wreck.

A few thoughts:
  • I don't think Sarah Palin knows what Katie Couric means when she refers to "Gaza" and "Hamas"
  • At the end, Palin simplistically talks about "good guys" and "bad guys" when describing America, Israel, and Iran.  This is how I was taught about the Gulf War when I was in the 7th grade - this is not the way a potential world leader should describe complicated foreign affairs
  • Her excuse for not having a passport is only valid up until the age of about 21 or 22.  After that age, if you have a decent paying job, it is a lack of curiosity in the world in my opinion.  There's actually nothing inherently wrong with this - it just means you're not qualified to be the Vice-President of the United States
  • She consistently makes no sense - many of her sentences are not close to complete thoughts
